I didn’t want to simply recreate a traditional period work so I researched renovated and modern music halls, one place that really inspired me was Wilton’s music hall. Based in London, Wilton’s music hall had classic element of the levels and materials of a music hall but it was much more worn and bleached. I felt like this was a good compromise between my director and I as it had the music hall theme but also the aging textures that I wanted to include.

This design was mainly based on the painting affects such as tromp l'oiel usually found in music halls, it was almost as if there was a stage painted on a stage. three flats were overlapping so that there could be entrances between them as well as the archway like those found in Wilton's.
